The Day After D-Day

My Saturday is nearly over (its 22:33) and i spent the day rather..regretfully. Let's just talk about yesterday, D-Day. The final day of going to classes which I have been doing for the last 16 years. It was bittersweet. However, a LOT of things happened yesterday that kept my mind of the bitterness.. hehe.

First up, the CP hearing. We were working on the getting up of files days before.. although it was not last minute preparation, we still felt that something was lacking. Understandable, seeing that it was our first hearing (other than Mock Trial.) I didnt prepare a concise script beforehand and i thought Ill just wing it in front of Pak Abu. We practiced half an hour before the hearing and Lord, did Sakinah prepare! She wrote 2 pages of what she'd say. U might think "Gile ah, Sakinah!" Yeap, that's exactly what i said to her. Hahaha! I admire her hardwork till the end.. Alhamdulillah, although there was a bit of hiccup right before the hearing we did our best and received decent marks. Thank you, teammates for the good memory of our final assignment. What a happy ending eyh? ;)

Next, submission of CPC assignment. We were supposed to write a review of a Mock Trial done during Convest. To Ya, thank you sooooooo much for the summary of the trial. I just inserted the review and comments and voila! So, it was safely submitted to the hands of Che' Nad who coincidently was waiting for her dad in Sir Nadzri's office. hehehe..

Last up, Jurisprudence test. The last but not least test. It was at 18:00. (I know, lambat gile..) I guess it'd be our last time to take only 40 minutes to answer a test.. *sigh* It went well since the tutor gave some hints the day before. When the test ended, the fact that it was my last moment at AIKOL didnt down on me yet as I was busy thinking of where Pae, Bonyo and I should go for dinner..

While writing this, rs rindu pulak kat kelas.. NO MORE CLASSES! Wow.. I have been dreaming of this day many times before but when it has finally happened, the feeling is.. neutral. Maybe i'll feel something on the first Monday after the final exam is over.. Like Sheera said, we'll wake up and sit on our beds thinking.. "What should I do today?" Then again, I know the answer to that question.. "Let's pack for Seoul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :p

Law of Evidence

I can't believe myself that im typing this entry when I'm supposed to revise Evidence for a test tomorrow at 6pm. In my head, I was going to start revising this afternoon.. i ended up watching Family Outing, ate junk food and fell asleep till 5pm. Then i got up, read a few lines, watched Family Outing again.. ( x baik bc buku ptg2.. x masuk..)Then at 8pm, i went to cafe to buy some dinner, ate it in front of lappy while watching Family Outing. But, i managed to finish reading (without memorizing anything) 1 topic while waiting for the food to be ready. watched it till 11pm then rs ngantuk, tido lg.. smpi 12.47am. woke up, showered, opened laptop, surf the net.. smpi sekarang which is 2.49am.

Ya Allah, why am i self-destructing?

Hopeful Romantic

This story just takes the definition of romance to another level.. and this was done by a Malay guy. Yeap, it is necessary to mention the race although this is far from being a racist statement. Girls, we all know that Malay guys do not know how to express their heart in romantic ways. However, this will make you feel that there is still hope for romance amongst Malay. hehehe!

A: B, abg i tu hopeless romantic gila.. geli i!
B: Really? What did he do?
A: For his first wedding anniversary, he bought a bunch of roses for my kakak ipar..
B: Awww.. that's so sweet. (bukan biase ke org bg bunga ms anni?)
A: Do you know what he wrote on the card?
"My love dies when the last petal falls.."

B: (erk.. did his love die after 3 days when all the flowers are dead??? this just reminds me of Beauty and the Beast.Remember? The rose in the glass.. ok. back to the story.)
A: He bought a dozen of fresh roses and placed a plastic rose in the middle of the bouquet.
B: AAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.....~~~~~~~~~~

Doesn't that story makes you all warm and fuzzy inside? I dont know about all of you but that's a first for me. Creative nyer abg A...

Reason

Is reason really that important? Alasan, justification, excuse.. aren't they all synonyms to 'reason'? The perception that we have when people starts to explain their behavior, usually the socially-frowned-on behaviors, is that they are just giving excuses. They are not sorry of what they have done, they do not regret what they have done because the justification would make the behavior in question to be acceptable. In other words, reasons are given to get an exception.

The reason why I referred to these behaviors as 'socially-frowned-on' is because the behavior might be wrong in the eyes of the people around him/her however, this is because people are judgmental in nature. The behavior would turn to 'socially-accepted' behavior when the reason behind his/her act is made known. Doesn't matter if one might feel that he/she is being 'non-judgmental', as mortals, we are bound to be prejudicial. Prejudice is a partiality that prevents objective consideration of an issue or situation. Human are subjective by nature. Mortals (who aren't mind-readers) can never know the whole story at first instance. In each story, there are multiple sides..be it being told or remained in the heart of the parties. Only Him that is Omniscience (al-'aleem) has the right to judge. In my opinion, the lack of our realization that we are only imperfect beings who have little knowledge, breeds contempt, disdain and disrespect.

So, what I am trying to say is.. not all reasons are excuses. Telling your side of the story is important. Although some things are better left unsaid. Whatever the scenario is, I still find it hard to put myself in someone else's shoe, to be emphatic and understanding when I don't know the whole story. I still have to make conscious effort to understand why people behave the way they do. I believe this trait can be nurtured although to acquire it takes a lot of time and patience. I have a long way to go. InsyaAllah.

Seoul Subway

Great subway system, huh? Imagining that I would have to explore the intermingling web of subway line is intimidating.. but I believe in my adventurous self and I will make the best out of it. One thing im sure of, if im lost, turn back! ;)

I am doing nothing at home today so... im gonna plan our Seoul trip, in detail. We have to really plan everything because our initial plan to crash at my junior's place and Nu'u's cousin place didn't work out. We've decided to crash at some stranger's couch F-O-C and get to exchange cultures with Seoulites (www.couchsurfing.org) and maybe stay at some budget hostels around the city. I think one of the best parts of travelling, other than the destination itself, is the scheming. ;) Have a nice weekend!

Seoul, KLIA, Bandung

I can't wait to go to Seoul, Korea! I even dreamt of going to KLIA (pic above) but I never made into the plane.. (I hope it is not a sign.)

I can imagine myself walking to the boarding gate, pulling my fabulous pink luggage (that i haven't bought yet..) behind me, holding my passport and boarding pass in my other hand.. Stepping into the plane and 6 hours later, arrive in a completely different country!

The last time I have been out of country was in 2007. It was Bandung and it wasn't even a proper vacation. I went there for Asian Universities Debate Championship. However, thanks to our suckiness in debate, we lost the preliminary rounds and we got a few days to spare for sight-seeing. I love Bandung!!! The weather was just nice.. not too hot, not too cold. Imagine a breezy dawn, but the temperature lasts for the whole day. Golden, huh? Bandung is the heaven for shoppers! Since Malaysian Ringgit is more expensive than Indonesian Rupiah, everything is cheap!! Even the designers label is relatively cheap, compared to those sold in Malaysia.

The city is definitely No.1 in my book for the best city to experience Indonesian culture, and shop while doing that. I remember riding the 'Angkutan Kota'. It is a public transport that looks like a van. Some of it do not have any door, so people can step in and out (even when the van is moving) freely. It is very fascinating how far the citizens go to search for a day's earning. While we were stopping at a traffic light, a young guy hopped on the van, and started serenading us with a song while strumming his old guitar.. We were shocked, to say the least but we ended up giving him some money. After a few of similar incident occurences, we were used to people suddenly coming up to our faces, singing gibberish (some of them were good singers though) and holding out their palms for money. I strongly recommend Bandung for travelers who seeks for excitement, beautiful scenery and retail therapy!

Sunday

You came in with the breeze
On Sunday morning
You sure have changed
since yesterday
Without any warning
I thought I knew you
-Sunday Morning, No Doubt

One of my all time favorite song. Saturday was FUN, to say the least.. Now i know how hard it is to throw an open house (tho mine was just a small get-together, it sure feels like an open house! hehe.) It was my 1st attempt at soto and i did ok, right? Thanks to Mak Mai's recipe and Kikin's guides, it all went smoothly. except that i was betrayed by my gas tank! i was in my cooking zone when the fire gave out on me. dah bazir sejam tunggu tong gas baru.. another hiccup was when i realized, the soto broth was not enough! tgh2 org dtg rumah, kene la masak balik pulak. sorry guests, i didn't entertain y'all.. sebok sgt kt dapor.

seeing that this is our final semester together at AIKOL, it doesn't mean that it will be the last time we are together right? Next year, insyaAllah ill invite y'all over. so, kalau ade pape request for menu, sila utarakan setahun awal k? nk kene practice dulu. hehe..

so, Sunday plan.. REST! ^^

An Evening With..

An evening with PAE & BONYO.

After the Jurisprudence test, we went out to fill our tanks. Passed by Planet, it was STILL closed (tak nak untung ke? lamanye raya..), kubur da terbakar (dat sounds so wrong) so we drove on till the maple dpn sikit dr kubur tu.. (the following dialogue is not verbatim. it is from the recollection of the author, but it doesn't make it less true. hehe.)

Pae: Bonyo ni the opposite of my dream guy. Sy nk yg kulit gelap, muka mcm Shah Rukh Khan, x merokok.. Tgk la Pie tu cane. Tgk la apa sy dpt skang! Opposite habes!

Bonyo: I rs u ni mcm pompuan dlm The Ugly Truth tu la.

Borgy: Hahaha! Sebab die ade list eh? Btol2..

Pae: Dah tu? U ni Gerard Butler la eh?

Bonyo: Haa la! I kan banyak tolong u dulu!

All: LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!

Borgy: This is soooooo going into my blog. ;p

Rubber band in my head

Im not sure if it was the new pillow or the fact that i slept without a blanket or lack of sleep or the nasi lemak and air jagung for breakfast that made me suffer a headache all day long. It felt like there was a big-ass rubber band in my head, squeezing my brain and trying to pop my eyes out. One of my friends suggested ginger ale to ease the wind ( i figured out that was the nuisance in my head). I picked up a small pack of Eno Halia.. bought some kuih from the cafe and head back to my room. I ate the snacks and downed the gingery spritey liquid and we were off to KLCC. One thing bothered me was that i'd pass gasses (or shud i say 'drop some bomb') in public. The last time i took some Eno I 'relieved' the winds like there was no tomorrow.. We went out by 3.40pm and i returned to my room at 10.40pm. (that's our typical outing.) Surprisingly, no sound came out of my butt hole.. mybe just a few burps but it was all good. Except that the headache did not go away! What happened to the ever-so-efficient Eno? Just a moment ago that the Eno kicked in and i was able to 'relieve' myself.. The headache is bearable now.. maybe sleeping will help loosen up the rubberband in my head.
