South Korea Trip - Ticket

My ticket

As you can see from the ticket, I'll be boarding an Air Bus! Cool huh? Im very excited to see how big is the mammoth Air Bus. Maybe I can have a little walk around the plane. ;)

For all those who are planning to go travelling here are some tips i've learnt myself on how to travel with less money:

1) Plan ahead of time.

You'll save A LOT by planning your trip months ahead. I've purchased this return ticket for RM1598 and it's Malaysian Airlines. It's a steal considering that the ride would be comfortable (insyaAllah) without me having to buy my own meal even before i'm on the flight or hitting terrible turbulence in the air. I bought the ticket months (about 5 months) before the trip. I do have the concern of buying the ticket too early and something happened before the trip that i would have to cancel the ticket. That's why planning is the key. Confirm with your family of the events that might interrupt with your plan, inform your employers so that your application for a vacation gets green-light and for students like me, you should check the university's calendar to see when is the next semester break. Well, in my case, im on 'break' for good since i've graduated. (insyaAllah jugak)

2) Search for economic lodging

Check this website out, http://www.couchsurfing.org/. It lists people who are offering 'couches' (well, u might have to sleep on the floor but they usually give you blankets and pillows) to travellers. You can join in the fun, and even offer your couch as well. It's a great way to get to know the locals and new cultures as you'll practically be experiencing other people's lives. For me, the best thing about travelling is to get to know the people. If you're just looking for a free stay, this might not be the site for you. The hosts appreciate surfers who wants to get to know them, their culture rather than treating their homes like a hotel.

If you're not comfortable with strangers, try to ask for favors from friends that are living in the area. I'm staying with my junior from high school who is studying in Seoul. Nu'u (my travel buddy) is staying at her cousin's place. Ajin (another friend) who went for a Europe trip earlier this year stayed at his aunt's place in France. Another reason for me picking Seoul as my destination is because of the convenience of the lodging. If I don't have any friends there, I don't know if I'll be so confident on staying there for a month.
